Bhubaneswar: Employment opportunities will no longer be a concern for the youth of Odisha as a steel plant is set to be established in Keonjhar. JSW has announced plans to set up a steel manufacturing unit in the district, paving the way for industrial development and job creation. 

JSW's Big Announcement at the Industrial Conclave 

During the Utkarsh Odisha industrial conclave in Bhubaneswar, JSW Chairman Sajjan Jindal officially announced the company's plans to set up a steel plant in Keonjhar. Discussions are also underway with POSCO regarding this ambitious project. The proposed investment is estimated to be between ₹30,000 crore and ₹40,000 crore. Renowned industrialist Naveen Jindal has also shared his views on this development. 

A Step Towards Fulfilling the CM’s Election Promise 

Before assuming office, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had promised the people of his constituency that a steel plant would be established in Keonjhar. Since then, he has actively engaged with administrative officials and JSW representatives to turn this vision into reality. With the latest announcement, it appears that the long-cherished dream of Keonjhar’s residents is finally coming true. 

Odisha: Emerging as an Industrial Hub 

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Industries Minister Samapad Swain have expressed their support for the growing industrial investments in Odisha. The CM stated that Odisha is on its way to becoming a leading industrial hub in India. With the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he called this a historic day for the state. 
According to the Industries Minister, this is the perfect time for investments in Odisha. Many industrialists are keen to set up businesses in the state, and major agreements are expected to be signed by the 29th of this month. 

PM Modi’s Presence at the Industrial Conclave Opens New Doors for Odisha 

For the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended an industrial conclave organized by the state government. His presence, along with the central government's guarantees, has created new opportunities for Odisha’s economic growth. Following the formal inauguration, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and the Chief Secretary held a roundtable meeting with CEOs of various industries to discuss the state’s industrial policies and infrastructure. 
Odisha’s industrial-friendly environment and policies were highlighted during these discussions, reassuring investors of the state’s commitment to development. This conclave marked the beginning of renewed interest and commitment from industrialists, setting the stage for Odisha’s transformation into a major industrial and employment hub.
