Odisha’s Progress in Cultural and Economic Sectors Showcased at 76th Republic Day Celebrations 
Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi marked the 76th Republic Day celebrations with a powerful address in Cuttack, underscoring the state's commitment to cultural development, economic growth, and social harmony. He emphasized that India’s cultural renaissance, evident in the Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya and the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, is strengthening national unity and communal harmony. 

Cultural Development: A Pillar of National Unity 

Addressing a large gathering, CM Majhi highlighted that India's progress is not just limited to social and economic aspects but also extends to cultural development. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj symbolize a spiritual and cultural resurgence, promoting peace and unity among communities.

"A culturally strong nation fosters social harmony. The historic construction of the Ram Temple and the grand Mahakumbh celebrations are reflections of India's deep-rooted heritage, inspiring a sense of national pride," Majhi said. 

Odisha’s Rapid Development: A Testament to Good Governance 

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to accelerating Odisha’s development, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas." He noted that Odisha’s transformation over the past seven months demonstrates the people’s trust in the state government’s ability to deliver progress. 
Majhi stated that the Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women, has already benefited over 80 lakh mothers, with the first installment of ₹10,000 successfully distributed. The second installment is scheduled for Women’s Day, March 8, ensuring that financial assistance reaches every eligible woman. 

A Strong Commitment to Farmers and Healthcare 

Recognizing the crucial role of farmers in Odisha’s economy, CM Majhi announced a range of initiatives to support agriculture and allied activities, benefiting 70% of the state’s population. He assured that farmer welfare remains a top priority for his administration. 

Additionally, the government is set to extend the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana to over one crore families in Odisha starting next month. This expansion ensures that eligible citizens receive medical coverage up to ₹5 lakh, while female beneficiaries will receive coverage up to ₹10 lakh, strengthening healthcare accessibility across the state. 

Transforming Education: Modern Schools in Every Panchayat 

The Chief Minister announced a groundbreaking initiative in the education sector—the establishment of Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools in every panchayat over the next four years. The government will invest ₹12,000 crore in this ambitious plan to provide state-of-the-art educational infrastructure for the youth of Odisha.

To uplift tribal communities, Majhi introduced the "Shaheed Madho Singh Hatakharch" scheme, designed to encourage tribal students to pursue higher education, ensuring their access to quality learning opportunities. 

A Golden Era of Infrastructure Development for Odisha 

With a strong focus on infrastructure, CM Majhi declared that the next five years will witness unprecedented growth in roads, bridges, irrigation projects, and rural electrification. The double-engine government at the state and center will drive massive investments into village infrastructure, ensuring all-round development. 

"The prosperity of Odisha depends on the development of our villages. Our government is committed to investing thousands of crores annually to build strong rural infrastructure that will benefit generations to come," Majhi asserted.

Concluding his speech, CM Majhi reminded citizens of their responsibility to uphold democracy and the Constitution. He urged everyone to be vigilant guardians of democratic values, emphasizing that true progress can only be achieved through unity, discipline, and collective effort. 
As Odisha moves forward on its path of cultural resurgence, economic empowerment, and social harmony, the 76th Republic Day celebration stood as a testament to the state’s unwavering commitment to progress and national pride.
