Government Announces Padma Awardees Ahead of Republic Day Celebrations
New Delhi: The Union government has announced the Padma Awards 2025, recognizing 113 Padma Shri, 19 Padma Bhushan, and 7 Padma Vibhushan recipients for their outstanding contributions across various fields. Harvinder Singh, a para-archer from Haryana known as "Kaithal ka Eklavya", has been awarded the Padma Shri for becoming India's first Paralympic gold medalist in archery at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.In an inspiring recognition, Libia Lobo Sardesai, a veteran of Goa's freedom movement, has been honored for her pivotal role in operating the underground radio station ‘Voz da Liberdade’ (Voice of Freedom) in 1955 to mobilize resistance against Portuguese rule.

- Neerja Bhatla, a gynecologist specializing in cervical cancer prevention, recognized for her life-saving contributions to women's health.
