Bhubaneswar, January 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Indian diaspora worldwide to be crucial to the country's progress, especially in the eastern areas like Odisha, in a dynamic speech at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention in Bhubaneswar. He urged the diaspora to further connect with India's rich legacy and entrepreneurial potential, emphasising the value of cultural and economic cooperation.

In response to the PM's speech, Prithviraj Harichandan, the law minister for Odisha, underlined the significance of the diaspora's participation in changing India, particularly the eastern states. In an interview with the media, he stated:
 "The Prime Minister has made a sincere plea to the Indian diaspora to actively participate in the country's development, with particular emphasis on the eastern region of India. He has encouraged them to learn more about Odisha's thriving business potential as well as its rich history, culture, and traditions. 

PM Modi's Diaspora Engagement Vision 

In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi praised the Indian diaspora for their steadfast assistance and efforts, which have greatly improved India's standing internationally. "It gives me immense pride when world leaders acknowledge the achievements and values carried by our diaspora," he stated. 
As a pillar of India's foreign policy, the prime minister emphasised the government's dedication to protecting the security and well-being of Indians overseas. "We consider it our responsibility to support our diaspora in times of crisis, no matter where they are in the world," he said. 
PM Modi also proposed a unique initiative, urging Indian diaspora members to invite non-Indian friends to visit India. "When you next visit India, bring at least five friends of non-Indian origin with you. Inspire them to experience the wonders of India and deepen our global connections," he said. Also Read:

Pay Attention to Odisha's Development and Possibilities 

PM Modi and Minister Harichandan emphasised Odisha's position as the host state and the unrealised tourist, cultural, and entrepreneurial potential of the area. The state administration is eager to highlight Odisha's historical significance and investment potential in collaboration with the Centre. 
Minister Harichandan went on to say, "The PM's request for the diaspora to come frequently is intended to strengthen the bonds and create a natural connection between them and their homeland. Odisha is a potential destination for both visitors and businesspeople since it provides a distinctive fusion of modernity and antiquity. Also Read:
