Kolkata: Reported by Sanatan Mahakud, On 21st December 2024, the first-ever United Nations World Meditation Day was celebrated with a grand and spiritually uplifting event organised by The Global Academy in association with the Pragyan Foundation. The goal of the day was to raise awareness of meditation as a potent technique for improving mental health, well-being, and world peace. The event featured an inspiring meditation session led by Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, a renowned expert in meditation and mindfulness.

Dr. Agarwal’s session was the focal point of the celebration, guiding participants through a series of calming and transformative meditation techniques. His approach emphasised mindfulness, stress relief, and inner peace, helping the attendees to connect with their deeper selves. Through his teachings, Dr. Agarwal highlighted the importance of meditation not only for personal growth but also as a way to foster global peace and harmony. 
The session received a warm reception from the attendees, who felt both rejuvenated and enlightened by the experience. On this occasion Mr. Sanatan Mahakud, a renowned yoga & wellness expert, has explained and demonstrated a few techniques on meditation. 
The event was attended by a diverse group of individuals, each contributing to the occasion with their presence and enthusiasm. Notable attendees included Dr. Sahidul Islam, Md. Fatah Alam, Geeta Sinha, Dr. Namita Chakraborty, Madhumita Ganguly, Dr. P.K. Pramanik, Sarita Jaiswal, and many others, who added to the spirit of the gathering. Their participation reflected the widespread appeal of meditation as a practice that transcends borders and brings people together for a common cause of mental well-being and peace.
