Daspalla: (Reported by Subas Chandra Barik): At Radhamohan Jew High School in Satapatana, Daspalla, a training session on school health and wellness was held. In order to raise schoolchildren's understanding of health and wellbeing, the Community Health Centre, Madhyakhanda, and the Block Education Department collaborated on the project.
The Ayushman Bharat initiative sponsored the training, which was intended for health ambassadors from every school in the Daspalla block. Weekly yoga sessions, handwashing techniques, anemia-free initiatives, and the negative impacts of teen pregnancy, early marriage, violence, and substance misuse were among the main subjects covered. In order to encourage a healthy lifestyle, students were also made more aware of the need of sanitation, personal hygiene, and nutrition.
By using mobile applications to record health-related activities at the school level, the initiative adopted a novel strategy. The focus of this one-day program was on giving teachers and health ambassadors the resources they need to consistently include children in wellness and health-related activities.
Resource people like Dr. Kali Prasad Sadangi from the Health Department and Mr. Sushant Kumar Behera from the Education Department led the training sessions. They offered thorough explanations on how to combine health and education for children' overall growth.
Dilip Kumar Nayak, the headmaster, stressed the link between health and education and urged all parties involved to collaborate in order to create a healthy learning environment. Key authorities, such as Mr. Gopabandhu Dehuri, ABEO, actively participated in the event and emphasised the importance of such efforts in accomplishing goals linked to health and education.
With the help of Mr. Purna Chandra Kabi, PHEO, who helped to efficiently coordinate the activities, Block Programme Manager Mr. Tushar Ranjan Sahu of the Health Department made sure the program ran well.
By raising schoolchildren's knowledge of health and wellbeing, this program helps to ensure that they develop into responsible, healthy adults. The health and education departments' joint efforts have established a model that other areas can follow.
