The Puri Mahodadhi Divas will open with the first-ever Indo-Sri Lanka Lifesaving Sports Championship, aimed at promoting lifesaving skills and water safety techniques. Organized with the support of India’s National Life Saving Society and Sri Lanka’s Lifesaving Association, this championship will include competitions in rescue skills, water handling, and teamwork among lifeguards from various countries. 
The highlight of the event will be Marine and Beach Sports Competitions, where more than 600 participants from over ten countries will showcase their talents. Featured events include kayaking, canoeing, beach volleyball, and exciting lifeguard relay races. The competitions will not only entertain spectators but also highlight Puri Beach as a rising destination for water sports and ecotourism. 

Coastal Conservation and Cultural Celebrations 

Alongside sports, the festival will host a Coastal Conservation Exhibition, showcasing efforts to protect India’s marine ecosystems. Organized by Odisha’s environmental organizations, this exhibition will raise awareness on preserving coastal biodiversity and the sustainable management of beach areas.
