Women in Daspalla Welcome Subhadra Yojana Rath in Western Region

Daspalla: (Reported by Subash Chandra Barik): To raise awareness about the Subhadra Yojana, a scheme focused on empowering women, the Subhadra Rath, which travels across Odisha, reached the western part of Daspalla on Saturday. Upon its arrival at Banigocha, a major trading hub in the region, the Rath was welcomed with great enthusiasm in the Panchayat office premises. 

Several women participated in the welcome ceremony, including Soudamini Sahu, Supervisor of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), CRP workers, Anganwadi staff, MBK members, and representatives from women's self-help groups (SHGs). The Subhadra Rath will now travel through various Gram Panchayats like Banigocha, Duda, and Kujamendi to spread awareness about the scheme among the local population. In addition, the Rath will continue its journey across different Panchayats in the Daspalla block, helping create further awareness and understanding of the Subhadra Yojana.

What is Subhadra Yojana? 

The Subhadra Yojana is an ambitious initiative by the government aimed at empowering women across Odisha. Under this scheme, the government has set a goal to provide financial assistance to **1.8 crore women** over the next five years. Each woman will receive a grant of ₹50,000, which is expected to promote financial independence and support entrepreneurial ventures. This initiative aims to uplift women, particularly in rural areas, by enabling them to engage in various income-generating activities and contribute to their families and communities. 

Prime Minister to Launch Odisha's 'Subhadra' Women Empowerment Scheme on September 17, which coincides with his birthday. His visit will mark the official launch of the new women’s empowerment scheme, named **'Subhadra'**.
