Despite this loss, Vinesh’s mother, Prem Lata Phogat, ensured that her daughter continued to pursue her passion for wrestling.

Vinesh's uncle, Mahavir Phogat, played a pivotal role in shaping her career. After the death of Vinesh's father, Mahavir Phogat raised Vinesh and her sister, Priyanka Phogat, as his own daughters. Mahavir, a former wrestler himself, coached them rigorously, instilling discipline and dedication in them from a young age. Under his guidance, Vinesh emerged as a formidable wrestler, winning several national and international titles.
