Narendra Modi’s Journey: From Hope to Global Dominance

Vice President Dhankhar described PM Modi's leadership journey as remarkable, comparing it to a rocket launch. He explained that in 2014, when Modi first took office, India was in a difficult position. However, with great effort, Modi ignited hope and optimism. By 2019, India had broken free from its limitations and soared to new heights. Now, in 2024, as Modi serves an unprecedented third term as Prime Minister, his achievements are described as "astronomical," with India’s influence reaching new global heights.

India’s Leader on the Global Stage

The Vice President expressed pride that India now has a leader who dominates global conversations. Modi’s voice is respected worldwide, particularly when addressing global issues like peace and humanity. Dhankhar noted, "Prime Minister Modi is seen as someone who can help resolve the conflicts that are troubling the world today." He added that Modi not only lays foundations but also completes projects, always thinking ahead of the times.

Gujarat’s Legacy of Leadership

Dhankhar praised Gujarat, calling it a land of leaders. He noted that Mahatma Gandhi, who led the movement for peace and non-violence, hailed from Gujarat. The state was also home to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the "Iron Man" who united India. Today, Gujarat continues this tradition through PM Modi, the visionary behind the Statue of Unity and a leader who now shapes global discourse.

India at the Heart of Global Harmony

Vice President Dhankhar highlighted India’s growing role as a center for global harmony. He stressed that Modi’s leadership is key to solving global issues, and India’s role in the world is becoming increasingly significant. “If India’s leader calls for action, it matters," said Dhankhar, emphasizing the respect India now commands globally.

Inclusion of African Union in G20: A Visionary Move

The Vice President praised Modi’s decision to include the African Union in the G20, alongside the European Union. He described this as a visionary move that reflected India’s commitment to global unity and cooperation.

One Earth, One Family, One Future

Dhankhar also highlighted the G20 motto, "One Earth, One Family, One Future," which reflects the ancient Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam —the belief that the world is one family. He stressed that India has never believed in expansionism and that war is not the solution to conflicts. “Diplomacy and dialogue are the only solutions,” he reiterated.

The Fight Against Climate Change

Addressing the urgent issue of climate change, Vice President Dhankhar called for collective action. He emphasized that tackling climate change requires the involvement of everyone, not just governments or organizations. “Every individual has a role to play,” he said, urging people to reduce energy consumption and act responsibly to protect the environment for future generations.

Dhankhar also appealed to the media to raise awareness about climate change, stressing the importance of making it a mission to ensure that every person contributes to this global effort.

Energy Consumption: A Responsibility for All

In his closing remarks, the Vice President spoke about the responsible use of energy. He urged everyone to consume energy wisely and sustainably, reminding the audience that the planet is already damaged and that we must work to both halt further damage and start repairing it.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Gujarat Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Shri Pralhad Joshi, and Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.
