Bhubaneswar: Odisha's farmers have something to celebrate this Nuakhai, as the state government plans to release funds under the newly named CM Kisan Scheme. Earlier known as the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) Scheme, this initiative aims to provide financial support to small, marginal, and landless farmers across the state.
Under the CM Kisan Scheme, small and marginal farmers will receive ₹4,000 annually in two instalments. Additionally, landless farmers will receive ₹12,500 per year as part of this financial assistance program. The scheme is designed to support the livelihoods of farmers, ensuring that they have the means to continue their agricultural activities, even during challenging times.
Ahead of this development, Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister has held discussions with district collectors to ensure a smooth disbursement of funds. The focus is on ensuring that the financial aid reaches the intended beneficiaries promptly and without any bureaucratic hurdles.
The CM Kisan Scheme, like its predecessor, KALIA, plays a vital role in Odisha's agricultural economy. By providing direct financial assistance, it aims to alleviate the financial burden on farmers, especially during the critical agricultural seasons.
Nuakhai, a significant harvest festival in Odisha, symbolizes the bond between farmers and their land. This year, the festival will also bring financial relief, giving farmers an opportunity to prepare for the next season without financial stress. The state government's efforts to support farmers through such schemes have been widely appreciated, and the CM Kisan Scheme is expected to benefit millions of farmers across Odisha.
With the festival season approaching, the timely release of funds under the CM Kisan Scheme will not only help in the smooth conduct of agricultural activities but also bring a sense of security to the farming community.
