Kolkata: On September 4th, 2024, the Heritage Institute of Technology, a prestigious private engineering institution recognized by the UGC and accredited with an NAAC 'A' grade, entered into a transformative collaboration with the Heartfulness Institute. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to integrate value education based on humanitarian principles into the academic framework of the institute. The objective is to nurture compassionate and thoughtful individuals capable of contributing to a just and empathetic society.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Rishabh Kothari, Trustee of The Heartfulness Education Trust, and Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal of Heritage Institute of Technology. The signing ceremony was graced by prominent figures including Shri Kamlesh Patel (Rev. Daaji), Shri H.K. Chaudhary, Chairman of Heritage Group of Institutions, Shri P.R. Agarwala, Chairman of Heritage Institute of Technology, and Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO of Heritage Group of Institutions.
This partnership builds on a previous initiative by AICTE, which had already established an MoU with the Heartfulness Institute to advance Emotional and Mental Wellness Learning for students.
Shri Kamlesh Patel (Daaji), Guide of Heartfulness, emphasized the significance of mental tranquility in achieving success, stating, “A calm mental frame of mind and tranquility can help individuals achieve much more in life. The Heartfulness Education Trust is committed to supporting the Heritage Institute of Technology in equipping students with the tools necessary for success.”
Shri H.K. Chaudhary, Chairman of the Heritage Group of Institutions, expressed enthusiasm for the new educational paradigm, noting, “The Heartfulness Education Trust is redefining education, and we are excited about this academic evolution. Collaborating with them to foster a new approach to education is a privilege.”
Shri P.R. Agarwala, Chairman of the Heritage Institute of Technology, highlighted the practical benefits of the MoU, stating, “This agreement will allow students to gain valuable life skills, enhancing their personal and professional growth.”
Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO of Heritage Group of Institutions, acknowledged the significance of the collaboration, saying, “Partnering with the Heartfulness Institute to promote value education is a remarkable opportunity. We extend our gratitude to Rev. Daaji for his support.”
Following the MoU signing, the Heartfulness Institute organized a Mass Meditation programme at the Heritage campus. The event, which drew over 1,100 participants from across Bengal and Northern India, was attended by trustees of the Heritage Group of Institutions, students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff.
The programme commenced with a conversation led by Ms. Ruchika Gupta, President of the Sanmarg Group, which is a prominent newspaper and media entity. During the meditation session, Rev. Daaji spoke about the benefits of meditation, explaining, “Meditation helps balance and regulate our lifestyle, fostering emotional resilience and enhancing performance both at work and in personal life. It sharpens our ability to make thoughtful decisions.”
The event concluded with a revitalized audience, who left with a deeper sense of inner peace and well-being. The collaboration between Heartfulness Institute and Heritage Institute of Technology promises to bring about a positive shift in value education, benefiting students and the wider community alike.
