Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the third-anniversary celebration of the Life Savers Group Trust, a leading voluntary organization in Keonjhar district, today. He expressed his commitment to accelerating Keonjhar's development.

"Keonjhar is rich in mineral resources, making it a valuable asset for Odisha. However, despite its wealth, the district continues to struggle with poverty. It’s time to push forward with its development. My focus is on building a prosperous, golden Keonjhar," said the Chief Minister.

He highlighted that the state government regularly reviews progress in Keonjhar. A decision has been made to establish a mega steel plant in the district, and he stressed that this project must come to fruition.

Speaking at the event held at the SAIL Auditorium, CM Majhi outlined various developmental initiatives taken by both the State and Central Governments for Keonjhar. He mentioned that the recently inaugurated Vande Bharat Express passes through Keonjhar, connecting Brahmapur to Tata City, bringing more connectivity to the region.

The Chief Minister praised the Life Savers Group for their outstanding social work. "Their contribution to society is inspiring. If such social values are cultivated in every town and village, we can build an ideal society," he said.

He noted that the organization has donated over 10,000 units of blood to those in need. "Every year, you organize camps for blood donation to address the district’s critical shortage of blood. This is truly a noble effort," he added.

CM Majhi emphasized the importance of donating blood, calling it an act that reflects our highest human values. "The feeling of saving a life through blood donation is something that sets us apart. Our goal should be to ensure that no life is lost due to a lack of blood. I deeply appreciate the Life Savers Group's efforts in this direction."

"Standing by those in need during their times of sorrow gives a powerful message of compassion. Your work in helping 600 to 700 families, and aiding patients in getting hospital treatment, shows a sense of social responsibility that we should all learn from," said CM Majhi.

The Chief Minister shared that this was his second visit to his native Keonjhar after taking office, and he was glad that his first program here was with such a dedicated organization. "This is truly an event to joy for us," he remarked.
