Amit Shah's Strong Message to Jammu & Kashmir: NC-Congress Blamed for Destabilization Efforts

In a powerful address to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued a stern warning against what he described as attempts to reignite terrorism in the region. He directly accused the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance of trying to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir and jeopardize the region’s hard-earned peace.

A Harsh Critique of NC-Congress Alliance

Amit Shah took a strong stance, alleging that the NC-Congress coalition was keen on releasing stone pelters and rekindling violence in sensitive areas like Rajouri and Poonch. He further claimed that the NC-Congress coalition, in collaboration with Mehbooba Mufti's People’s Democratic Party (PDP), intended to drag Jammu and Kashmir back into the turmoil of terrorism."

“Three powerful families have been getten benefit in Jamu-Kashmir from a long periods.Terrorism will rear its ugly head again if NC and Congress return to power,” Shah asserted, emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would never allow terrorism to flourish under its watch. He pledged to keep troublemakers behind bars and stated that the controversial cross-Line of Control (LoC) trade would not resume, asking, “Who will benefit from it?”

Promises of Statehood, Criticism of Rahul Gandhi

Amit Shah also addressed the sensitive issue of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, which has been a key demand of the opposition. He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making empty promises to the people, asserting that Gandhi lacked the authority to restore statehood.

“Rahul Gandhi claims he will restore statehood to J&K, but does he even have the power to do so? I have made it clear in Parliament that statehood will be given back at an appropriate time, after the elections,” Shah said. He urged Gandhi to stop misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir with hollow assurances.

Shah further criticized efforts by the opposition to rename the iconic Shankaracharya Hill as Takht-e-Suleman, a move he condemned as an attempt to erase cultural heritage. He also accused the opposition of trying to strip the Gujjar, Bakerwal, and Pahari communities of their reservations, vowing to block such actions.

Assembly Elections on the Horizon

Jammu and Kashmir are set to vote for their 90-member Assembly in three phases, with polling scheduled for September 18, September 25, and October 1. The election will be a significant moment for the region, as it represents the first major electoral process since Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood was revoked in 2019, transforming it into a Union Territory.

Amit Shah’s remarks come at a crucial time as political alliances take shape, and parties gear up for what is expected to be a high-stakes election. Shah’s strong message was aimed at rallying support for the BJP, ensuring that terrorism and instability do not return to a region that has seen substantial changes under the Modi government.

The Fight for Jammu and Kashmir’s Future

Amit Shah’s speech reflected the BJP’s ongoing efforts to secure peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir, while at the same time preventing the resurgence of separatist sentiments. The message was clear: the future of Jammu and Kashmir must not be allowed to fall into the hands of those who would compromise its stability.

With the elections approaching, the people of Jammu and Kashmir face a crucial decision about the region's future. Shah's assertions underscore the BJP's commitment to ensuring that peace and security remain priorities for the Union Territory. In this critical juncture, the stakes are high, and the path forward is uncertain.

The Union Home Minister’s address not only reflected the BJP’s stance on the pressing issues in Jammu and Kashmir but also served as a reminder of the challenges that lie ahead. As the region moves closer to the elections, political rhetoric is likely to intensify, and the fate of Jammu and Kashmir will be determined by the choices made by its people.

The days leading up to the elections will undoubtedly be pivotal as Jammu and Kashmir prepares for a new chapter in its history, with peace, security, and development on the line.
