Bhawanipatna: The sacred festival of Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Semapur, under Bhawanipatna Block. The event commemorated the birth of Lord Krishna and was marked by several spiritual and cultural activities that filled the day with devotion and joy.
The celebration began with the offering of garlands and prayers to the picture of Lord Krishna. Bhikari Charan Sahu, the chairman of the school management committee, along with Rajesh Prasad Sahu, the secretary, and Banchhanidhi Mishra, the vice-chairman, graced the occasion as special guests.
During the event, Principal Tikadev Sahu delivered a motivational speech that highlighted the spiritual importance of Sri Krishna Janmashtami. He explained the influence of this sacred festival on Indian culture and how Lord Krishna's teachings continue to inspire generations.
One of the key highlights of the day was the students who dressed up as Radha and Krishna, embodying the divine spirit of the occasion. These students were honored with certificates and awards for their enthusiastic participation.
Adding a touch of tradition, the famous act of breaking the curd pot, symbolizing Krishna’s childhood mischief, was performed in the school verandah, filling the atmosphere with excitement and cheers.
The celebration did not end there. A tree plantation drive was also organized as part of the event. The school management committee members, including the chairman, secretary, vice-chairman, and teachers, planted trees around the school campus, promoting environmental awareness alongside spiritual reflection.
The day ended with a sense of fulfillment, as students, teachers, and guests alike celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna, embracing the values of devotion, joy, and responsibility towards nature.
