Bhawanipatna: To commemorate the 78th Independence Day, the "Mo Lekha Mo Dunia Sahitya Sansad" of Kalahandi organized an online poetry session. The event was graced by Akash Dasnayak, a respected MLA, actor, and social worker, who attended as the chief guest.
The session began with the national flag hoisting and an inspirational musical tribute, led by Chandrakanta Bishwal, who extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to all participants. The event featured an impressive lineup of participants, including renowned poet Dr. Bhabanisankar Nial, yoga instructor Sanatan Mahakud, chief advisor Bharati Rath, founder Khusiram Sahu, and judge Manmatha Swain.
More than 100 poets and poetesses from across Odisha participated in this virtual gathering. They shared their poems on the theme "Azad Bharat" (Independent India). Notable contributors included Bidhut Sekhar Mishra, Punam Majhi, Alladini Chand, Gaurachandra Gahir, Govind Behera, Benudhar Behera, Vidyadhar Mantri, Yudhishthir Muduli, Ashok Kumar Nayak, Shobhagini Nanda, Pratap Chandra Mishra, Bhupendra Gahir, Kailash Behera, Sanyukta Sahu, Uddhav Charan Sahu, Lalata Keshari Balsamanta, Manjushree Baral, Nalini Prabha Subudhi, Sujata Dwivedi, Binay Nayak, Bijay Swain, Prahallad Bishwal, Subhasmita Patra, Pankaj Samal, Dasharath Majhi, Sharangadhar Sahu, and Rita Aparajita Mohanty.
The session highlighted the rich literary talent of Odisha, as participants passionately expressed their thoughts on India's journey as an independent nation through their verses. The event not only celebrated Independence Day but also fostered a sense of unity and pride among the poets, who came together virtually to pay tribute to their country through poetry.
