Odagaon Students Shine in Regional Independence Day Competitions

Odagaon, 7/8: In the build-up to Independence Day, students from Odagaon block showcased their talents in a series of exciting competitions. Held at the Government Upper Primary School in Mashabari, the event brought together young students from grades 1 to 8, eager to demonstrate their skills in various categories such as speeches, essays, patriotic songs, and painting.

The Regional Resource Centre Coordinator, Mr. Yashobanta Pattnayak, supervised the event, which saw participation from 62 students representing 16 different schools. The competitions aimed to foster a sense of patriotism and encourage creative expression among the students. 

The patriotic song competition was a highlight, with soulful renditions that moved the audience. Adyasha Panigrahi from Gayatri Vidyamandir, Mashabari, won the junior category. Ridhima Rijul Dash from Government Primary School, Bahadapitha, took home the prize in the middle category, while Om Prasad Patra from Mashabari High School triumphed in the senior category. 

In the Odia speech competition, Poonam Priyambada Sahu from Government Primary School, Ranganipatana, impressed the judges with her eloquence. Anwesha Patra and Nishirani Patra from Janashakti High School, Deogaon Bhaliadihi, were also recognized for their outstanding performances. 

The English speech competition saw brilliant displays of oratory skills. Lakshmimayi Jena from Mashabari Upper Primary School, Deepanjali Sahu from Government Primary School, Pantikhari, and Suchitra Priyadarshini Parida from Kalakanyu High School emerged as winners in their respective categories. 

Essay writing competitions in both Odia and English also revealed budding writers. Swikruti Das from Janata Government High School won the Odia essay competition in the senior category. In the English essay competition, Shriyashradha Kar from Mashabari Upper Primary School stood out with her insightful writing. 

The painting competition allowed students to express their creativity through art. Shubhalakshmi Pradhan from Gayatri Vidyamandir, Mashabari, captured the top spot with her vibrant and imaginative artwork. 

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes by Bhavagrahi Mahapatra, the headmaster of Mashabari Upper Primary School. He congratulated all the participants and encouraged them to continue honing their skills. The winners of these competitions will now advance to the mandal-level competitions, bringing pride to their schools and community. 

This event not only celebrated the talents of young students but also instilled a sense of national pride and unity, making it a memorable prelude to the Independence Day celebrations.
