Blood Donation Camp and Senior Citizen Help Centre Launched at Daspalla Police Station

Daspalla: (Reported by Ratnakar Hota) Blood donation is one of the most generous acts a person can do, as it helps save lives. Unfortunately, there is often a shortage of blood when it’s needed the most, especially in Odisha, where patients suffering from anemia, pregnant women, the elderly, those with sickle cell disease, people fighting severe illnesses, and victims of unexpected accidents frequently require blood.

To address this critical need, Daspalla Police Station in Nayagarh district organized a special blood donation camp on Thursday. The event took place within the police station premises under the guidance of Inspector-in-Charge Mukesh Behera. It saw enthusiastic participation from people across the region, all coming together to help those in need.

Nayagarh's Superintendent of Police (SP), Rahul Jain, was the chief guest at the event. He not only inaugurated the camp but also opened a new Senior Citizen Assistance Centre, which aims to support the elderly in the community. He encouraged everyone present to donate blood and explained how such a simple act could save lives.

The blood donation camp was a great success, with over 128 units of blood collected. The event saw participation from various groups, including local youths, members of the Drivers' Association, students from different schools and colleges, and police station staff. Volunteers from several organizations also took part, all donating blood voluntarily.
