World Peace Homam Marks Guru Purnima Celebration in West Bengal
Kolkata: On the holy occasion of Guru Purnima, the Anandam Foundation, in collaboration with Sarada Vidya Mandir, organized a "World Peace Homam" at the Sarada Vidya Mandir in Keshiyari, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. The event aimed to promote peace and harmony in the world. 

The celebration began at 10 AM with the chanting of Vedic mantras and the singing of devotional songs. The serene atmosphere was filled with positive energy as the chants echoed through the air. Shri Pitambar Barik from the Gayatri Parivar in Soro, Odisha, led the Homam as the priest. Shri Dillip Batbyal and his wife Madhu Chanda Batbyal were the yajmans, or the main hosts of the sacrificial ceremony. 

The Homam saw active participation from the students of Sarada Vidya Mandir and local residents. Everyone present, including children, teachers, and villagers, joined in with full devotion and enthusiasm. The students were particularly excited to be part of such a significant event. Their participation added a youthful energy to the ceremony. 

The event was not just a religious gathering but also a community event that brought together people from different walks of life. It served as an opportunity for the younger generation to learn about their culture and traditions. The involvement of students helped in imparting important cultural values and lessons on the significance of Guru Purnima. 

The program concluded at 2 PM with the Purnahuti, which is the final offering in the Homam. After the Purnahuti, Mahaprasad, or sacred food, was distributed to everyone. The Mahaprasad is considered a blessing, and everyone partook in it with reverence and joy. 

Shri Manoj Das, the General Secretary of Anandam Foundation, expressed his happiness at the successful organization of the event. He emphasized the importance of such ceremonies in promoting peace and unity among people. Shri Alok De, the Principal of Sarada Vidya Mandir, also spoke about the significance of Guru Purnima and the role of teachers in shaping the future of students. 

A total of 118 villagers, including teachers, students, and local residents, attended the event. The community's participation highlighted the collective effort to foster a sense of togetherness and spiritual growth. 

In conclusion, the World Peace Homam on Guru Purnima was a beautiful and serene event that brought the community together. It was a day of learning, devotion, and celebration, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and fulfillment.
