Mumbai, July 13, 2024 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an inspiring speech at the inauguration of The Indian Newspaper Society Towers in Mumbai today. He highlighted several development projects aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure and benefiting its citizens.
“The development projects launched in Mumbai today will enhance connectivity, significantly upgrade the city's infrastructure, and greatly benefit its citizens,” said PM Modi.
He emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader vision to transform Maharashtra into a major economic powerhouse.
“Maharashtra is powerful in every sector, and on this basis, we want to make this state a major economic powerhouse in the world. Our projects and efforts indicate that not just Mumbai but the entire Maharashtra is going to play a very significant role in the creation of a developed India,” he added.
PM Modi also addressed the employment situation in the country, stating, “In the past few years, a record number of jobs have been created in India, exposing the false narratives of those who claim otherwise.” He assured that the government’s initiatives are creating numerous job opportunities across various sectors.
Highlighting the success of the Swanidhi scheme, PM Modi expressed his satisfaction with its impact on street vendors. “I am pleased that the Swanidhi scheme is greatly aiding the lives of my street vendor brothers and sisters in Mumbai and Maharashtra,” he said. The scheme provides financial support to street vendors, helping them sustain their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
PM Modi also spoke about the government’s efforts to make the pilgrimage from Pune to Pandharpur more accessible for devotees. “Our government is leaving no stone unturned in making the sacred pilgrimage from Pune to Pandharpur easy for the devotees,” he stated.
In conclusion, PM Modi reiterated his vision for Maharashtra’s future. “Maharashtra is powerful in every sector, and on this basis, we want to make Maharashtra the world's largest economic powerhouse. Our projects and efforts indicate that the entire Maharashtra, along with Mumbai, is going to play a very significant role in the creation of a developed India,” he affirmed.
