PM Modi Encourages Young IAS Officers to Deliver Speedy and Fair Governance

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with 181 IAS Officer Trainees from the 2022 batch, who are currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various Ministries and Departments. The meeting took place at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi.

PM Modi urged the young officers to adopt a "saturation approach" in their work, which means making sure that everyone benefits equally from government schemes, ensuring social justice and preventing discrimination. He challenged the officers to choose whether they want to be "speed breakers" or "superfast highways" in delivering services to the public.

The Prime Minister also encouraged the officers to be agents of change and to find satisfaction in seeing the positive impact of their work. He reminded them that their aim should always be "Nation First," and he invited them to join him in this mission.

The Assistant Secretary programme, according to PM Modi, is designed to give young officers hands-on experience from the highest to the lowest levels of the administrative system. He reflected on his earlier meeting with the trainees during the Aarambh programme in 2022 and highlighted the importance of being proactive in governance to meet the high expectations of New India.

PM Modi mentioned successful government initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and PM Awas Yojana as examples of schemes that benefit from the saturation approach. He stressed that the accolades the officers received upon their selection are in the past, and now it's time to focus on the future.

Also present at the event were Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh, Principal Secretary to the PM P. K. Mishra, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, and Secretary (Home and DoPT) A.K. Bhalla, along with other senior officials.

The interaction provided an opportunity for the officers to share their training experiences and learn from the Prime Minister’s insights on effective governance.
