Ministry of Women and Child Development Hosts Post-Budget Webinar on Women-Led Development Initiatives

Delhi: The Ministry of Women and Child Development held a special webinar to discuss the new budget's focus on improving women’s roles and opportunities in India. This event aimed to share the government’s plans for supporting women and expanding their participation in the workforce.

The webinar was opened by Smt. Annpurna Devi, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development. She highlighted the government's dedication to empowering women under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Smt. Devi emphasized that the goal is to ensure women’s physical and mental well-being, improve their skills, broaden their income opportunities, and help them gain respect and self-reliance.

She explained that the government is committed to providing high-quality childcare facilities that are safe and supportive. This initiative is designed to help working mothers balance their careers while ensuring their children receive good nutrition and care.

For the financial year 2024-25, the central government has allocated Rs 3.3 lakh crore across various ministries and departments specifically for the welfare and empowerment of women. This funding will support efforts to increase women's participation in the workplace, ensure their safety, and set up facilities like hostels and crèches for working women.

During the webinar, several speakers, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and representatives from organizations like UN Women and the World Bank, discussed the key aspects of the new budget related to women. They also highlighted successful strategies from different state governments for providing hostel and crèche facilities.

The event was well-attended by participants from all states and union territories. It was held at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi and was also available online for broader access.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for women across the country, focusing on their empowerment and development.
