Former Karnataka Minister B Nagendra Sent to ED Custody

Bengaluru, July 13, 2024: Former Karnataka Minister and Congress leader B Nagendra has been taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He is being investigated in connection with the alleged Valmiki Corporation scam.

Nagendra was brought to the ED office in Bengaluru, where he was questioned about his involvement in the case. The court has sent him to ED custody until July 18, giving the investigators more time to probe the matter.

The Valmiki Corporation scam involves allegations of financial irregularities and misuse of funds meant for the development of the Valmiki community. This community is one of the scheduled tribes in Karnataka and receives government support for education, employment, and other welfare programs.

Nagendra, a prominent figure in the Congress party, has denied any wrongdoing. His supporters claim that the charges are politically motivated and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

The ED will use the custody period to gather more evidence and question Nagendra further about his role in the alleged scam. This case has attracted significant attention due to Nagendra's high-profile status and the impact on the Valmiki community's welfare programs.

More details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses, and Nagendra's supporters continue to stand by him, hoping for a fair and just outcome.
