FIR Filed Against Trainee IAS Officer Pooja Khedkar's Parents and Others


Pune, Maharashtra: The Pune Rural Police have registered an FIR against Manoram Khedkar, Dilip Khedkar, the parents of trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, and five others. The FIR was lodged last night at the Paud police station following a complaint by a local farmer who claimed he was threatened by Manoram Khedkar.


According to Senior Police Inspector Manoj Yadav of Paud Police Station, the FIR includes charges under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, charges under the Arms Act have been included.


Who is Pooja Khedkar?


Pooja Khedkar is a trainee IAS officer from the 2023 batch who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 841 in the UPSC exam. She comes from a family with a strong background in public service. Her father, Dilip Khedkar, is a retired administrative officer.


Who is Manorama Khedkar?


Manorama Khedkar is Pooja Khedkar's mother. A two-minute video circulating online shows Manorama Khedkar, accompanied by her security guards, engaged in a heated argument with the neighbours. In the video, she can be seen yelling at a man while holding a pistol in her hand.


The police are investigating the incident thoroughly. The involvement of firearms has added a serious dimension to the case, prompting the inclusion of the Arms Act in the FIR. Further details and developments are awaited as the investigation progresses.
