Goal: To support businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups, in the defence and aerospace sectors.
Delhi: To boost self-reliance, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has given the go-ahead for seven new projects to private companies under the Technology Development Fund scheme. These projects aim to meet various needs of the Armed Forces and aerospace sectors. This move shows DRDO's ongoing efforts to support industries, particularly SMEs and start-ups, in the defence and aerospace fields. Developing these technologies within India will strengthen our military industry. Here are the details of the projects:

1. Indigenous Scenario and Sensor Simulation Toolkit
This project will create a local toolkit for pilot training simulators. It will help with mission planning and large-scale force engagement. The project has been awarded to Oxygen 2 Innovation Pvt Ltd, Noida.
2. Underwater Launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
This project will develop versatile marine battlefield tools for various combat roles. It will focus on intelligence, surveillance, and maritime awareness. The project has been given to Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt Ltd, Pune.
3. Long-range Remotely Operated Vehicles for Detection & Neutralisation
These vehicles will be used to find and neutralise underwater objects, keeping key assets safe. The project has been awarded to IROV Technologies Pvt Limited, Kochi.
4. Development of Ice Detection Sensor for Aircraft
This project aims to create a sensor to detect ice forming on aircraft in flight. This will help activate the aircraft's anti-icing system. The project has been awarded to Craftlogic Labs Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru.
5. Development of Radar Signal Processor with Active Antenna Array Simulator
This project will support the testing and evaluation of short-range aerial weapon systems. It is a crucial part of larger radar systems. The project has been awarded to Data Pattern (India) Limited, Chennai.
6. Development of Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-based Timing Acquisition & Dissemination System
This project will use the Indian satellite system to develop a timing acquisition and dissemination system. It has been awarded to Accord Software & Systems Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru.
7. Development of Graphene Based Smart & E-textiles for Multifunctional Wearable Applications
This project aims to develop conductive yarn and fabric using graphene nanomaterials. The result will be advanced e-textiles for practical clothing. The project has been given to Alohatech Private Limited, Coimbatore.
